Muller Cups

Müller type cups feature hemispherical shape manufactured entirely from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).
They are cemented cups, which means that on their convex external surface they have a special grooved design aimed at improving the cup’s primary fastening.

All the cups have a marker ring whose purpose is to assist the surgeon in checking the correct acetabular placement of the implanted cup. Since UHMWPE is a radiotransparent material, this opaque-radio marker ring is necessary for later post-operative clinical monitoring.

Standard Muller Cup is characterized by a depth that varies from 27mm to 37mm depending on the size.

The external holes (three on the edge of Müller Standard, Sanp-fit and Double Snap-fit cups, one on Müller with 10° Antilixation shoulder) are for lodging the specific instruments to facilitate positioning, orientation and impaction on the acetabulum.

Cup Sizes form 44 to 60mm

Head Sizes 28 or 32mm

The Muller cup with anti-luxation shoulder guarantees a greater mating surface thanks to the 10 ° inclination of the spherical cap.

Cup Sizes from 44 to 60 mm, compatibility with 28 and 32 mm heads.

Snap-fit cup is the result of the evolution of the traditional Muller cup. It is characterized by a single retention mechanism that locks the head, preventing the risk of dislocation.

Cup sizes from 44 to 64 mm

Head sizes: 28 and 32mm

Double snap-fit cup is the result of the evolution of the traditional Muller cup. It is characterized by a double retention mechanism that locks the head inside, preventing the risk of dislocation.

Cup sizes from 44 to 64 mm

Head sizes: 28 and 32mm

Materials

The main cup component is made of Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene UHMWPE (ISO 5834/2). The ring for radiological references is made of stainless steel (ISO 5832/1).
